The 14th of Feb

14th of February -all over the world , is celebrated as the Valentine's day . Today , we have headed to a faster era , 7 years after the 2nd millennium after the birth of Lord Jesus , and entered in to the 8th year too! Technology seems to have reduced everything from distance to feelings!!Wth the fast moving pace , feelings are desperately expressed with an even greater speed !This day is marked to express love for one another !
On 14th I wake up & see the date : 14 th .....What can be done to make this day a memorable day in my life or rather in our lives ?I am not aware of the significance or the history of the day , however , I knew one thing :- It is a Valentine's day .Who was St.Valentine ? Err.. he was a Saint !!! Wikipedia says this day he was buried in AD 269 in Rome .A catholic encyclopidea says St.Valentine was martyred in Africa .Valentine of Terni became bishop of Interamna about AD 197 and is said to have been killed during the persecution of Emperor Aurelian .Oh my God!!Ghosh ! How many Saints and yet the one day . Remarkable isn't it ?All of them sacrificed their lives for a noble cause !The first secretly encouraged marriage of soldiers against the laws of Roman emperor Claudius II who believed that single men can make a good army . Saint was executed for this , but before execution , he is also reported to have healed the blind daughter of his jailer . Now wasn't this a kind act ? How human , how just , how noble their gestures were ! They worked for a cause , they sacrificed for a cause , a cause for HUMANS , to protect HUMANITY !
That was a medieval period . What in 21st century , we wish to remember those . It becomes a gift , a flower from a man to a woman . Ghosh ! What about the rest ? How do they celebrate ? What about the singles ? What do we do ?
No worries ..!!We still have each day to celebrate , to give , to spread kind gestures , sincere tributes to noted and respected persons . All these thoughts lingered in my mind . A small act of grace has to be done to mark this day in my calender . So , I and my friend , Sup , chose to distribute chocolates to whomever we know and whomever I admire :-) . After this , it left some satisfaction within us . Are these emotions ? Dare think so ? Na , they are actions , they are verbs , they are work that resulted into emotions , feelings and finally dissolved in to our memories .
